How we create, review, and update our plant care content
How We Create Care Guides
Every care guide on GrowBook is compiled from publicly available horticultural references. We consult multiple sources — including botanical gardens, university extension services, and peer-reviewed publications — to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Review Process
All content goes through a multi-step review process: source collection, factual verification, readability editing, and technical review. We prioritize conditional, evidence-based language over absolute claims.
Sources & Citations
We cite our reference sources at the bottom of every content page. Source organizations are listed for transparency only and do not imply endorsement, partnership, or affiliation.
Updates & Corrections
Plant science evolves, and so does our content. We regularly review and update our guides to reflect the latest available information. Each page displays its last review date.
Corrections Policy
If you find an error in our content, please let us know through our contact page. We investigate all reported issues and publish corrections promptly.
Content Tone & Style
We use careful, conditional language — phrases like 'typically,' 'in most cases,' and 'depending on conditions' — because plant care is not one-size-fits-all. We distinguish between common experience and verified facts.
Toxicity Information
All toxicity data is referenced from ASPCA and other publicly available pet safety databases. We always recommend consulting a veterinarian for pet safety concerns.
